This section is very cute! Saw a lot of ancient jewelry in many different forms. Most are them are new to me and all are very very beautiful!!! That’s for sure, but to my disappointment I didn’t see any topic speaking about a jewel which has not only financial value but also emotional value!!! So I think that I should start a new thread about that, and here it is:

This pendant came from my Grandma, she gave it to me on my 15th birthday and she’s not here to see that I’ve post her pendant. It has so much importance to me and obviously a really great value, the only material thing that she left for me. Just wanna share it with you!

Very nice section indeed! The necklace surely looked great on your grandma, do you wear it as well? What is it made of? Is it gold? You are very lucky to have this according to me! How old are you karen?

Indeed grandma was wonderful with this necklace! I’ve never wore it, trying to keep the memories of grandma when I look at it.
I suppose that it’s made up of gold, in fact I don’t know, and you just made me realised that it would be a good idea to bring this pendant to be analysed by a jeweler.
I’m 28 yrs old. And what about you Abstract? How old are you and do you have any jewels which you inherit from your parents?

Yes great section Karen. I suppose that you really loved your grandma, it’s a kind of respect to post her pendant! Look at my girlfriend’s ring, she got it from her mother, whose still with us fortunately. It’s a platinum ring with an aquamarine stone.

It’s a nice ring Berni! Hope that your girlfriend likes it too!!!

By the way guys, I would like to thank you!!! (Especially Abstract)
When I started this thread, I just wanted to show you my pendant, but then you made me realized that it would be a good idea to bring it to a jeweler so as to know what’s my pendant made up of and that’s what I did on Monday!

In fact this pendant is an Art deco filigree Onyx and diamond pendant set in a 14k yellow gold necklace and its value is approximately $500.

I was really happy to discover that; it’s surely of little importance to you guys but for me it means a lot; it made me feel closer to my Grandma!!!

Hi Karen
I’m pleased to see that you finally learn more about your Grandma’s pendant.
And don’t think that it is of little importance to us, we are here to share not only our love for jewelry, not only to look for ideas but also to share our feelings!

hi karen it's so sad to note that you could not preserve the gift of your grandmother and it's good that she's not here to see that you've lost her precious pendant. well you dont have to cry on that now. but i must say that this pendant is very beautiful and that you were very lucky to have got that necklace on your 15th birthday.
