Sorry to say this but I really find tongue piercings disgusting! Even unhygienic! well that thing is in our mouth!!! Its not like having an earing, or even those who have it on the eyebrows!!! you guys think its safe???

They are totally safe, i've got pals that have on their tongue and even below them! you shouldn't be scared of it, cause that's what can make the pierced hole get infected!!! there's no danger in tongue rings, they are made of special alloys that do not rot, so no prob, they ain't toxic!

i have no problems with piercings in general, but i have a MAJOR problem with tongue piercings. it's just not appealing at all and like Donna said, totally unhygienic. that's my point of view guys, but it would be nice to have the opinion of someone who actually HAS a tongue piercing. anyone around on the forum with one?  so i don't know just how far this picture is true but check it anyway  that's apparently the X-Ray of a person who swallowed his/her tongue piercing!

here is one of the nasty pictures of piercings that have gone bad...  now think if that could happen to the the outter skin can easily happen to the tongue!!!! Piercing is a ridiculous way of attracting the attention towards us, so please people stop being ridiculous and forget about this trend.

but zasalamel, i know people who have tongue piercings which are totally fine!!!! we shouldn't make a mountain out of a molehill. i agree that some tongue piercings get badly infected and all, but we should not forget those people who have tongue piercings since years and who are still boasting them!  why exactly do the piercings get infected? it might be because of the tools used?

yikes!
i find tongue piercings utterly disgusting! i mean how can you tolerate a big hole in your tongue, filled with some metal thing... when you eat.. the food goes there.. and imagine eating noodles and the noodles get stuck around the piercing... no way.. thanks, but NO thanks! this isnt for me

I think that it is totally safe! There are so many teens having their tongues pierced for those pins, well there ain't many complaining about it! If it truely was dangerous then I think that it would have been baned! Don't you agree with me?

I don't really understand what you are talking about but I can say that they don't really look good for me. I have loads of friends who got problem with tongue piercing. Hey zasalamel, your picture looks really freaky, do you think it is a true one? I wonder how this person was feeling with this piercing in his stomach
