The best places that I have found to get some really nice costume jewelry at great prices is at garage sales and thrift stores. I have found some beautiful pieces for less than $1.00 apiece by frequenting our local thrift stores. If you go alot, the staff will keep an eye out for you. Another good place that usually has a little higher but still resonable prices is at flea markets. |

Yep, garage sales and thrift stores are great places to find things at super cheap prices. Sometimes people just don't know what it's worth, but alot of times they do and they just want to get rid of it quick. Either way, you can get some great bargains at these places. |

I usually look for drapes that make great costumes. Most people dump their drapes because they look ugly, but that faded velour in orange looks great as a merchant of venice doublet. I use thrift shops to pirate backings and beads from realllly ugly settings. The right stone in a new finding can be a huge winner. |

Garage sales are a great place. Especially if they're run by older people. This little old lady was having a garage sale near us, and she sold a fairly large jewelry box full of older costume jewelry for $2. I was thrilled to get that. |
