Be careful guys before buying any diamond jewelleries

Imitation of diamonds
Imitation diamonds are gems that resemble genuine diamonds. Some are natural gemstones, such as colourless varieties of spinel and zircon. Others do not occur in nature and are manufactured from substances that are similar to diamonds in appearance. These substances include glass, strontium titantate, yttrium aluminium garnet and cubic zirconia. A cubic zirconia is difficult to distinguish from a genuine diamond. Jewellers must use scientific tests to tell them apart. Imitation diamonds are softer than genuine diamonds and may eventually show scratches and signs of wear.

Default I can see why
I can see why you would be concerned. If you buy it as a gift and don't know it nor does the receiver find out...what neither of you don't know will not hurt you.

However, if you mistakingly buy it thinking you are going to resell it you may want to get it appraised before resale, just to be safe. That way you still have a chance of preventing your customers from thinking you have gipped them and you won't get sued.

First, when you buy a jewellery consits of diamond, make sure that the diamonds you select best suit that type of jewelry application. Like for instance, some diamond qualities are best suited for engagement rings while others are best suited for diamond stud earrings.

yeah me too! how are we going to manage with these diamond replicas?? I know that cubic zirconia is well known for its resemblance with diamond but if there are unscroupulous jewellers that are willing to sell cheap jewellery at an expensive price then it will be hard for us to really know what to buy!!!

Yeah me too I will never be able to distinguish a real diamond to a fake one ! I've came across some picture of cubic zirconia and I can say it is very attractive too. Well, it is very dangerous out there so better be careful. I don't want to spend money in fake jewelries. There are many jewelers who sells cheap jewelry at a high price.

I heard that fake diamond can get easily broken. Me too I don't know how to differentiate true ones from fake ones but there are loads of professional jewelers outside there and I'm sure they won't lie about it. Although there are loads jewelers, we have to be very careful about it!
There are loads of information on the forum which will surely give us some tips! So check it out
