You're not loosing your time :) But you're right, it was a good idea to tell him, and now you can be sure that he won't give you a gold ring!!!

But just imagine that he doesn't remember what you told him and give you a gold ring???

I would tell my boyfriend that i would like to have a silver ring with a peridot stone on it... :) So then i'll be sure that i'll love my ring

My friend for her engagement ring, she had a beautiful ring with her b/f...
It was a silver one, with a diamond in the middle and on each side a paraiba tourmaline stone and a demantoid garnet stone!!
Its wonderful

I prefer silver, so I wll prefer to have a silver ring with a little diamonds or something else on...maybe a color stone. It could be very original and people will never guess that it's my engagement ring. I don't want to do the same thing as everybody and i really want my ring to be different from others!!

My engagement ring is a 3ct 3 stone round brilliant cut diamond ring set in white gold. The center diamond is 2ct and the side stones are 1/2 ct diamonds each.

Mine is my favortie jewelry. The main reason of course is because it is from my fiance! We spent two days to finally find this one---three stones arranged in a heart shape, setting in white gold. The original plan was to find a solitaire heart shape diamond one, but the price was really a killing. The one I am wearing now is acctually better look than one diamond, because it looks more elegant. We are looking for wedding ring now, but no idea yet, ha ha.
