Lightbulb Gold Does Indeed Come in Different Colors
Gold does come in different colors. Some gold looks like shiny silver or platinum. This is what is called white gold.

You also have the traditional gold which is considered yellow gold. Also, yes gold is often mixed with other metals such as silver, nickel, zinc, and so forth. As it turns out, too 100% gold (24 Karat gold) is not the best for every day wear.

I have been told that 14K gold is the best for jewelry, particularly rings. This gold is more durable than 24 Karat gold. It is like a compromise between the higher grades of gold such as 22 and 24K gold and the lowest, which is 10K gold. I hope this helps.

You are right irina, that gold has got different shades. When gold is alloyed with other metals it is possible to use these alloys to produce varying colours of gold. Gold alloys are usually a mixture of silver, copper , zinc and the amount of each can varied to affect the final colour.

Yeah I have noticed that too, that gold tend to have different yellow shades. Like those from china, they are less brilliant and pale yellow compare to those from india. I guess it depends on the quantity of alloy that makes the jewellery. They are certainly not pure gold but they are mixed with either copper or nickle. The different proportion added to the to make the jewellery would reflfect in the shade.

it all depends on the purity of the gold and also the jewel may be unclean!
these are the reasons why some of your gold jewelries may not be of the same color!

I'm not so sure about the color of gold.. But I think gold is an element with characteristic yellow color ..
Well I think it's like that. Don't misunderstand me..

Hey faden away, I heard that gold jewelry can easily be cleaned with a soft toothbrush, some toothpaste, dish washing liquid and warm water !!
Do you think it's true?
