do you guys know where one can buy cheap but nice jewelry boxes for gifts? what i'm actually referring to are the small boxes like the ones jewelry stores use...like if i have a pair of earrings or a bracelet i want to give as gift but don't have a nice jewelry box to put it on, where can i buy one? it would be nice if they were cheap because if the jewelry really don't cost much, it be funny if the box would cost more...:D

I would check with a jewelry store. You know they have them on hand and maybe they have some in the back room just taking up space. It wouldn't hurt to ask. See how much they are and if they can't sell it to you or it is more money than you want to spend aske them where you can find them. Just my 2 cents:D

People have to pay for those boxes! A friend of mine worked in the jewelry section of a bif dept store and they said there was a big side market just making those boxes. How cool would it be to start making custom jewel boxes? In damask or emboridered fabric or whatever?

Yes that would be interesting. Maybe you could work from scraps of really great fabrics. You want only a little bit.

well there is this place in New Delhi,India called Chandni Chowk where you can get the world's best and cheapest jewellery boxes... I'll say a tenth what you might be paying elsewhere for sure...

This site does a good job reminding you that presentation boxes are a big part of a gift giving moment. I keep a lot of boxes whenever I buy or get anything. You never know.

I think I must read the threads before jumping to conclusions, I thought that chocolatee was looking for empty jewelery boxes to give as gift!  Well I think that you can only buy those at wholesale stores and not single ones, but you can still try to buy one from a jewelery store, amybe they will do you a good price! I have found these on the net, they cost from USD2 to 6...and they are sold in packs of 12!
