I think that it's not possible to have a clear view of the inscrisptions with the naked eye, it will apear like a straight line but the person looking at it won't be able to read what has been engraved!
The idea is a good one, but I think that there still is some possibility that the gem gets weak with this type of alteration.

I think that you can clean your ring yourself with adapted products which you can find in supermarkets... Try to look for these products and this will be safer for your diamonds...

wow, this thread has been so helpful for me. i'd been wanting to know about the laser inscriptions on diamonds for such a long time.

but Tammy won't have any problems if she manages to get her diamonds inscribed because she'll be able to verify if they are her own when she goes to get them
