Do you think that's a good idea?
Or is it ridiculous?
Something tells me it's plain stupid, utterly dumb.
But then something tells me that it's not such a bad idea?
But between those two somethings, I've ended up losing myself. So I don't really know what to think anymore.
And let's just say for a second that it is a good idea, then what are the things that should be considered before offering a person a loose diamond as a gift?

Once again Designated Dev strikes... poorly.

I like your sense of humor…
Most of the time we buy jewels for our partner, in order to see how beautiful it would be when he /she wears it!!!
So what’s the idea of buying loose Diamonds???

I don’t think it’s a good idea! Like Mercutio said, supposed you buy loose Diamonds for her, without any doubt, she will be happy! But after one day of admiring the Diamonds you will have to put them in a safe place. Then what’s the purpose of it?

lol... you guys are funny Mercutio and Karen...

Dev, i think that it's alright to gift a loose stone to the person, if it's with the intention of further getting it set as a pendant or ring or something. get my point?

i mean, maybe you should give us more details. what is your intention behind gifting a loose stone?

what would come after that?

Dev I think that Allegra is right; a loose Diamond can be a wonderful gift. If ever someone bought one for me I’ll accept it with pleasure!

well, you have to make sure that the loose diamond is genuine!!!!!!
ok, i'm the one being dumb now
i think a loose diamond stone is a really nice gift because the person then has the choice of how to get it set as he or she pleases
you're gifting a loose stone to a person so that the person can do whatever he or she desires with it right?

i would think that that would be the idea behind this kind of gift right?
i find it kind of odd, i mean it would be much easier for the person at the receiving end to receive a diamond stone that has also been set because it can realy be confusing on deciding on the type of setting to get for some loose stones, specially if the person is picky and fussy about his or her blingies

It isn’t ridiculous or dumb as long as it is a gift which comes from your heart. See what I mean? Loose diamonds is beautiful also and you won't have to put it in a safe place as Karen said, you can surely make something out of it later if you wish to do so
