This labels what the different parts of the diamond are referred to as. With the girdle they are sometimes polished and sometimes unpolished. Most that I have sold have an unpolished girdle, but some polish it to get rid of a minor imperfection. This chart is from ediamonddepot.com.

'diamond cutting diagram' says the tittle but there's just a pic of a diamond here! would have loved to see the way the jewellers cut the diamond, the angles and all, well that really makes me wonder how they do that, how they cut those so finely and that too diamond! the hardess of all metals!

well that pic just lists the different parts of a diamond!
24k, the only thing i can tell you is that the diamond is first cut into a cubic/prism, or like two pyramids one on the other, then the pyramid on the top gets its top cut to give the table...
i know its not clear but still....anyway search the net, you'll surely find soemthing interesting about the way they are cut!

There are many type sof diamond cuts available, the cuts are the same for most gemstones. I think that ladyviper would have made this a better thread with pictures of her diamond cuts rather than this picture.

i've heard lots about that. is it expensive to get something inscribed on a diamond using the laser technology?
