I was just wondering. Other stones have various colors. But I've never seen onyx in a different color other than black. Is it the only color of onyx?

A chalcedony that occurs in bands of different colors and is used as a gemstone, especially in cameos and intaglios.

Black onyx is obviously always black, but there are various shades of onyx. For jewelry purposed, I believe black is the normal choice. I used to wear black onyx all the time. Now amethyst is my stone of choice.

Yes me too. I forgot that there is such a rich diversity of product offerings in the fine jewelry home accesory market. Some of these pieces can really dress up a room. Like the eggs and the candy boxes.

hey guys i have a picture for you all!

I have read that it was used long before during ancient greek times and the word actually means Fingernail! it is found only in black but there sometmes are some white stripes on them, just like in the pictures, i have no idea what type of jewellery it could be though!!! any ideas guys?

That's what you call beautiful? I really hate them. They don't have a nice looking and they are only black. Do you really think they are great guano apes? For me, it is valuable and surely not so beautiful for a lady. I hope you get the answer Epica. I mean the valuable part. Sorry but it's just to ugly.
