I found a site that listed multiple birthstones for every month. I thought this would be a nice alternative if someone didn't happen to like their birthstone. Maybe their other option would be a better fit for them.

January Birthstone: Garnet or Rose Quartz

February Birthstone: Amethyst or Onyx

March Birthstone: Aquamarine or Bloodstone

April Birthstone: Diamond or Rock Crystal (Quartz)

May Birthstone: Emerald or Chrysoprase

June Birthstone: Alexandrite or Moonstone or Pearl

July Birthstone: Ruby or Carnelion

August Birthstone: Peridot or Sardonyx

September Birthstone: Sapphire or Lapis

October Birthstone: Opal or Tourmaline

November Birthstone: Topaz or Citrine

December Birthstone: Tanzanite, Zircon or Turquoise

That is very interesting. I know that I have always seen different stones listed for October and December, but I didn't know that there were alternate birthstones for every month. My birthday is in January and I have never seen a rose quartz used for that month.
