I really like this stone. But all the cuts I want in rings are sooooo expensive. I like a square cut shaved flat to show off perfect color or gold streaks. I lost a ring like this once and will never get it back! Waaaah!

Never say "never"!!

Bad pennies always turn up again, why not rings?

Good quality lapis is not easy to come by. Stone grade is consistent color but the gold flake element can be very costly, and if the facets don';t show it off the value actually is detracted.

Lapis lazuli can be synthesized, although its not widely available. It comes in a uniform, deep blue colour with a hint of violet, which is uncommon in he natural material. It easliy takes a fine polish and is also produced scattered with minute fragments of pyrite.

I have some large chips from a Indian piece I acquired. It was a collar in hammered silver, it looked too costume-Y so I took it apart. When I see the pyrite stuff it seems it would look good with denim.

Lapis lazuli is one of the stones with the longest tradition of being considered a gem, with a history stretching back to 5000 BC. Deep blue in color and opaque, this gemstone was highly prized by the pharaohs of ancient Egypt, as can be seen by its prominent use in many of the treasures recovered from pharaonic tombs. It is still extremely popular today.

This is a stone that has a totally different color/aspect that makes it so mysterious looking and still a perfect stone for jewellery. It sure doesn't match all many colors, the choice for an outfit while wearing lapis l jewellery must be well thought. I have to think about it myself. I will tell you about my ideas later.

It's very attractive in color ! It's impossible to have it with everything ! I mean every type of clothes .. ! I don't know where it comes from! People used to worship lapis as a holy stone. Amazing, isn't it?

As a holy stone? I wonder if such types of people still exist. Well I don't think so. I really like lapis. They have beautiful forms and very very very attractive color also. I don't really know what kind of clothes should be worn in order to have a perfect. Can someone help? Well the sooner you got your ideas, the better it will be grandiose. So hurry up please.
