Interesting article. I like that they gave alternatives for the really expensive gems along with price ranges. Now I will know what to look for if I want something nice without spending all the money. I have never heard of some of the gems they listed. Now I will know better when I shop for jewelry for myself.

I always choose the hardest stone, in the color I want. I tend to shy away from soft stones, as I am hard on my jewelry. Emeralds and opals are both no no's for me.

I just wonder, do hard stones tend to sparkle too?

There is no best gemstone and no color that is best, as you say it! It all depends on what you want to wear them on! There are thousands of different colors in which gemstones are found, some even can be altered to have other colors that are not natural, i mean that the stones cannot be found in such colors in nature!
There is the question of what color of metal to put those gems on! Anyway your question is too vaste chocolatee.

I don't think there can be best gemstones.. They all look good and beautiful.. every stone has its own beauty.. That’s all I can say
