I just seen an add for a Cubic Zirconia ring set in platinum. No offense, but why would anyone want a cz ring set in platinum? That seems like a contradiction to me. I figure if someone is going to spend all that money on a band, then the stone should be of comparable quality, right? A cz in platinum is like a diamond hanging from a costume necklace chain. Ya think??

I agree
I agree. Why get such a precious rare metal or metal mixture and then plunk one of the cheapest quality gemstones. I am not trying to be judgmental. I just don't see many people affording to buy plat that will not be able to find at least a low grade diamond to put in there. Even a coated diamond would look better on this ring than a CZ!

...why is that so? i think that it would look just great...and it would not be as expensive as it would have with a sapphire or a diamond?? there isn't really a best combination for jewelry, if they look good together, i mean the gemstone and the metal, then its okay with me! I would like to have a look at the one in ad...just to give my opinion!

I think the ring from yuna is a platinum one with a cubic zirconia as gemstone. It looks fine to me, maybe the value of the metal and the stone is not as it usually is but it reall y looks beautiful, just like a diamond would look like! I guess that a ring made of platinum and with a cz stone will cost as much as a ring made of silver with a diamond, but the second combination is rare, this is just an example.

The princess cut model actually means the cubic zirconia gemstone has a princess cut! Well the ring is nice and I don't think that there is any problem mixing these two materials for one single ring! It sure is odd for anyone to want an expensive ring with an inexpensive gemstone on it but still as in the picture, it looks good. About that ring: GOOD: The desgin, the cut of the gem. BAD: The price difference between the metal and the gemstone!

Hey I can say that cubic zirconia has a beautiful appearance and platinum also has a beautiful appearance. So there is no harm in mixing the two metals. I'm trying to imagine how beautiful jewelry will really look with these two metals. Do you have an idea? I can say that the gemstone is actually a fake one but If jewelers don't really fool us with the price, I'll go for it.

The difference of the price between the two is not much a problem! Like if you have a plat ring with a diamond and another plat ring with a cz, the difference would only be the gemstone but nothing about how it will look, as both gems look similar!

...as long as no one finds out what it really is, I think that I'll opt for the cz and platinum one, as for it should be much less expensive than a platinum and diamond ring! so I can wear the cz one without anyone knowing while telling others that it actually is diamond! In that way I'll get a cheap diamond and platinum ring!
