Platinum which is made into jewelry only occurs in 5 parts per billion in the crust of the earth. It is found often in the Americas and is often mixed with iridium. The platinum arsenide and sperrylite are often associated with nickel. These are found in the Subury Basin in Ontario, Canada. There is also a rare mineral called cooperite which contains which contains platinum, nickel, and palladium. South Africa is another major source of platinum production in the world. |

This is good to know. It is interesting to find out where all the metals you purchase come from. That way if you buy in bulk and resell them you will know what to say about each piece. I especially think that if you purchase plat that most people would want to know where it came from. Thanks for the info. Do you have any connections online you can tell me about? Anyone? |

Why is the African country so poor? The answer is because long time ago, most of the Russians and other white guy heard about their gold mines and other precious stones. So they attack the Africans in order to have all the gold and the precious stones. Russians already got guns at that time but the Africans never heard about guns and they were forced to give their gold ! I don't really know for the platinum part. I never heard that is was from South Africa too !
