Platinum is more precious than silver or gold. The prices of it depends upon its availability. In fact, platinum is normally only a little less that the price of gold.

In the 18th Century, which was during the time of the reign of King Louis XV, platinum was thought of as the only metal fit for a king. That is how rare this metal is.

Default The Durability and Value of Platinum
Platinum appears silvery-white when firm, and the metal is corrosion resistant. Not only is platinum used in jewelry but it is also used in catalytic converters in automobiles. However, that is another story.

It does not oxidize in the air either, at any temperature. There are some cyanides, alkalis, halogens, and sulfuric agents that can corrode platinum. Otherwise, it is noted for its extreme durability.

This metal costs a little less that two times the price of gold.

Default I'd like to get my hands on some.
I'd like to get my hands on some platinum. I see adds on this site for up to 70 percent off. I wonder if any of these dealers advertised on this site are trustworthy.

If I get my hands on some I will gladly keep it or sell it for a profit. Platinum mixtures are the most precious metals in the world.

Whilst the market is so incredibly bullish towards metals and speculators and investors are basically buying anything which is shiny, then I think platinum can keep grinding higher

Well platinum is one of the most rarest metals that has been found, and this is certainly the reason behind its high price! But is there different categories, or a grading for it? i think it would be very interesting if anyone could post some more information about it!

If it really is more precious than gold then why is it that its price is less than the price of gold?

I dont think that platinum would look good as a crown, they may have thought it best for a crown only cause it is the most rarest metal but it is not the most lightest and it really is too shiny!
Anyway I though that I would get some ideas on how they grade platinum(IF there is a grading ofr it!).

Platinum is, according to me and I am sure than many will agree, the metal is the most shiny and rerest of all precious metal on earth!
This is why it SHOULD be expensive!

I also heard that platinum was more expensive than gold. Now I'm really confused. Can someone help me out please? Hey you, what is King Louis XV doing in this section? Let him rest in peace.
I agree with you sandman, it the most shining metal I have seen till now. But now I have a doubt about the price of gold and the price of platinum. Try googling, you will the right answer there. You can get everything on Google. I think Google will tell you about your future too Just kidding
