i have heard about this, but have never come across any Friendship rings as such. if Friendship rings are for real, i'd love to get one for my best friend. but first i want to know if they actually exist and what's so special about them. soo...are Friendship rings special in any way? i mean, is there something that differentiates them from other rings? or is it just the meaning that is attached to it that is different?

A friendship ring has the same meaning as a Promise ring and is a ring given to a boyfriend or girlfriend, to promise to be committed in a serious relationship. It means that the guy has the intention to marry his girlfriend in the near future and maybe that the couple does not feel that it is an appropriate time to consider engagement or marriage but are serious about each other and their relationship. A promise ring can be worn on any finger on the left or right hand, although ring fingers are far preferred. Most often it is the left ring finger, but due to engagement confusion, the right ring finger is finding acceptance in today's world.

this doesn't make sense, you give a promise ring just to promise something, how can a friendship ring have the same meaning? and what's the use of giving a friendship ring? Does it mean this will last forever? hMm.. I don't really understand this karen. I'm sorry
