When I was in college, my boyfriend of two years gave me a promise ring. It was really pretty--it had a gold band, a pink stone in the middle, and two cubic zirconias on the sides. The relationship didn't work out in the end, but I still have the ring. I think a promise ring is a nice symbol of commitment for a couple who is not yet ready for the engagement step.

Do you still wear the ring or is it in the bottom drawer for sentimental reasons?

It's nice to recieve a promise ring. Even if the relationship didn't work, you know it meant something to both of you at that time.

It is a nice gesture I guess, but can't the guy just buy you some jewelry without giving it a name? It sounds like a sweet piece of jewelry to get from a boy anyway.

You can keep the promise ring as a memory so that you dont forget the happy moments that you have shared with someone.......
