I have been to some places around the world where they sell fake replicas of Rolex and big brand watches ect, I was wondering if anyone has bought the fake brand name and:

a.) has it worked the same as a real one, worked a long time ect?
b.) could people ever tell it was a fake?

Well, it's pretty simple all rolexs say rolex on them, Plus they are solid gold platinum and have diamonds in them depending on which one you bought. They always come with a certificate of authencity.

I knew a guy that got a fake rolex one time. I think it was in Mexico but I am not sure. It was a gorgeous watch but it was not real gold obviously and after a few months of everyday wear the gold color wore off. He paid like $20 or something so I guess it could be worth it, it was really nice and he did wear it every day.

I've heard that you can tell a fake by the way the hands work. I think the fake ones have second hands tht you can see ticking or something like that. I, myself would not be able to tell the difference between a fake one and a real one, but I'm sure that people who can afford the real ones can tell the difference.

Often it doesn't matter if it's real or not, just wether it's real or not, nones going to closly insoect the diamond to see if its real, they will just see it and think 'diamond'

I know it doesn't matter as long as it looks realistic to someone glancing at it - but I like to know, just for myself, that what I'm wearing is real. It makes me feel good about myself. Plus, the peace of mind of knowing that your wrist wont turn green is priceless :D

I've never owned a rolex - real or fake (because if I have to ask how much, I can't afford it!), but I do have a Tag Heur, which was a birthday present. I got it at the time that a lot of people were getting fake ones and hardly anyone believed that it was real! Gutted.

Well, I know what you mean here. People are always tryin' to rip you off. Sometimes, they work and are nice, but sometimes they aren't.

Get the best of both worlds. Buy a real one (if you can afford it) and a replica (or two?). Wear the replica everyday and keep the real one for those suspicious friends that suspect you're cheating. Catch'em out every now and then.

My problem is that I would tell my friends about the replica, couldn't resist!!
