Not all bridal set are in gold, some are in diamond or pearl. I guess this depends upon the finance too. Coz these bridal jewellery are very expensive.

It think this should depend on the financial ability of the family or couple. It should not necessarily gold or any specific stone. A rich family would prefer to offer the most precious gems and the most expensive metal. I guess it depends.....it nothing to do with tradition but mostly with finance.

It is not a tradition but rather a choice. It does not matter as a wedding is celebrated without wearing jewellery. People tend to give a lot of importance to jewellery especially gold coz it is worth a lot of money.

Actually its more of choice than tradition my mum always tell me when i get married she will buy gold bangles for me..but i really want to use fake jewelleries they appear more beautiful...but on the other hand i can't deceive my mum i will have to put her gold bangles..but gold i must admit are very beautiful and many parents like to offer gold jewelleries to their kids when they get married because of gold endless value...

There are many wedding sets in other metals than gold that can be found nowadays, I can assure you that its only a matter of taste and nothing more, there is no meaning behind it, except that it could be that its just a habit!
There are also many wedding sets in pearl beads!

Well its not a matter of taste only. It depends the societies, the person's culture as well. In Indian the wedding ring is GOld and it is a tradition and have existed since a long time. BUt as such I have notice brindals use a mix of jewelleries both gold and other metals ...so its both taste and tradition.
