Does anyone here have a colored gemstone for their wedding ring? Like a sapphire, emerald or ruby? Or is the colorless diamond pretty much the only way to go. I wonder if someone had a different gemstone, would people still think it is a wedding ring?

There was someone in this very bridal section that had an opal that he or she was willing to make into an engagement ring, try to look up for that thread!

Colorless gemstones have been used most of the time for bridal jewelery but if a couple wants to have a unique pair of rings, that would be one in a million, then they could opt for colored gemstone, opals would not be good though, as they are too colorful and would ruin the pure atmosphere of weddings!

Do you really think a ring can ruin the atmosphere of a wedding?
What if they love the ring? I disagree with you.. I think that it might be a good idea
There is no law which prevents people from having colored gemstones in their wedding!
What do you think about it melos? Do you think I am wrong?

I am proud to say that I have a blue sapphire ring and it has three sapphires on it! Compared to my ex-husband's new wife, she got the usual white diamond ring!
Mine is much better than hers! Much much better than hers! You know that blue sapphire is best for wedding rings? No? Well have a look at my ring in the thread that I have posted, then you will all see that colored gems are much better for wedding rings!

i dont think that there are any strict rules about
the stones in wedding rings. and it will also look
diferrent compared to others.i think that it is a
good idea and you should go in for it.dont bother about people.

Never had a colored gemstone for my wedding because I'm not married yet But hey, I saw people using colored gemstone! I can say it was nice and beautiful.
I don't think a ring will ruin the atmosphere because the people who are getting married already choose their ring, so they will like it and will surely have a good day

lol, i for sure wouldn't think twice on seeing a colored gemstone ring. i mean, not for a second would i think that this type of ring is a wedding ring. i've kind of got this stupid idea that a wedding ring is either a simple wedding band or a clear stone?
